evaluation of medical intervation in pregnant mothers in caming emergency of rajaee hospital in 2007 f minaee , md mr nikbakht , md m salimian , md f mirhosseini ,bsc t shariatzade tekie , bsc received: 15 april, 2009 accepted: 27 july, 2009 abstract background & aims: pregnancy and childbirth are a turning point in life. this study was performed to investigate the results of medical interventions on pregnant women referred to rajaee hospital in 2008. materials & methods: this study was conducted on 623 pregnant women. the essential data were collected by questionnaires up from pregnancy documents, and were derived with logistic regression test through spss software. results: in this study, factors affecting cesarean such as prescribing drug, membrane rupture, hospitalizing term and gravid variable were investigated. there was no meaningful association between drug variables and maternal and fetal complications (p>0.05). there was an association between resuscitation and breast-feeding variables (p=0.02) as well as episiotomy and breast-feeding variables (p=0.012). conclusion: to increase vaginal delivery, unnecessary medical interventions should be avoided. we can reduce mothers’ willingness to the cesarean by pharmacological or non-pharmacological methods of pain. keywords: physiological delivery, gravid, pregnancy address: shahid rajaee hospital, aran and bidgol, kashan, iran tel: (+98) 9131617255 email: [email protected]
